Wilberforce Chambers Property team invites you to our ‘Resetting the commercial landlord and tenant relationship’ seminar.

The pandemic is generating litigation between commercial landlords and tenants: new arguments are being found, and old ones dusted off again. There is much interest in the cases currently going through the courts, both within the legal community and amongst commercial landowners, whether those are cases being decided under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 or in response to landlords’ claims for rent arrears. But is it all just a flash in the pan, a short-term response to exceptional circumstances? Will we go back to “business as usual”? Or has there been a paradigm shift, which will permanently reset the landlord and tenant relationship and effect fundamental, long-lasting change?

Our panel bring many decades of experience of property law, litigation and the property market to bear on these questions and we look forward to engaging the audience in a lively and topical discussion.

Panellists:

  • Joanne Wicks QC of Wilberforce Chambers
  • David Cooper of David Cooper & Co
  • Tiffany Scott QC of Wilberforce Chambers
  • Nick Wood of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang

Chaired by Liz Hamson of Property Week

This session will be hosted from 5pm at Wilberforce Chambers and online via Zoom, followed by drinks and canapés for in-person attendees.
