Challenging decision-makers

Wilberforce Chambers is delighted to invite you to our annual Insolvency Conference & Dinner which will take place on Wednesday 23^rd April 2025 at InterContinental Park Lane, London, followed by a drinks reception, and dinner at Theo Randall restaurant.

This year’s conference will focus on “Challenging Decision-Makers”, and topics include: challenging trustees; challenging MVL liquidators; challenging directors; and challenging officeholders.

Guest Speaker: Chief ICC Judge Briggs

We’re excited to announce that our guest speaker session for this event will be “Challenging the Judge: in conversation with Chief ICC Judge Briggs”.

Chief Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Briggs was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 1994. As a barrister he specialised in the law of insolvency and company law. He was appointed to his first judicial post of Deputy in 2007 and appointed a full-time Judge in 2015. In 2017 he was appointed Chief ICC Judge and in 2019 a Deputy High Court Judge (Chancery).

He was appointed to the Attorney-General’s panel in 1999 and undertook a variety of work including director’ disqualification and acting as a friend of the Court in the leading case concerning the payment of business rates as administration expenses.
