Iain Pester appointed Chancery Master

The Queen has appointed Iain Pester to be a Master of the Chancery Division on the advice of the Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales. Iain’s new post will see him deployed to the Royal Courts of Justice from 6th January 2021, when he will be known as Master Pester. We wish him every success.

Iain was called to the Bar in 1999. During his time as a barrister, his practice has spanned general commercial and chancery litigation and advisory work, with a particular focus on insolvency, shareholder, partnership and joint venture disputes, civil fraud, professional negligence, and cases relating to jurisdictional challenges and choice of law. He joined Wilberforce Chambers in 2015 following 14 years as a tenant at 11 Stone Buildings.

Brian Green QC, Head of Chambers, says: “I speak on behalf of all in Chambers when I say Iain’s appointment is richly deserved. He will be much missed, but we recognise that our loss is the Chancery Division’s gain. We are confident he will serve with great distinction.”

Nicholas Luckman, Practice Director, says: “We congratulate Iain and wholeheartedly wish him all the very best. We are extremely grateful for the valuable contribution he has made to Chambers since he joined. He has been an asset to our commercial, fraud and insolvency practices, and will be missed by us all.”
