John McGhee KC listed in The Lawyer Hot 100

We are delighted to announce that John McGhee KC has been listed in The Lawyer Hot 100 2023!

The Lawyer’s write-up on John reads as follows:

“Wilberforce Chambers’ John McGhee KC was so busy last year he didn’t have much time to stop and think. The go-to silk for property litigation last February acted for Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure in a landmark case that marked the first time the Supreme Court had considered the new Telecommunications Code. McGhee successfully argued that, despite the literal meaning of the Code, ‘occupier’ must be read as excluding a telecoms operator.

McGhee is also a frequent attendee of the Privy Council. Last year he acted in a case over land in Carriacou, an island of the Grenadine Islands, and whether the swamp land should be labelled as Crown-owned. In his spare time, he has been the editor of Snell’s Equity since 1999, providing in-depth commentary and analysis of the law of equity along with an interpretation of how the different rules can be applied to a property. It is the leading textbook on this topic in the common law world.”

The Lawyer says the members listed on their annual Hot 100 list “have two things in common; excellence and relevance”. To view the full list click here.
