View moreSimon is an experienced and in demand practitioner, specialising in trusts and estates work (onshore and offshore), property and commercial litigation, and professional negligence work.
Known for his approachable manner, technical knowledge and his commercial and frank advice, Simon believes that the giving of practical and clear advice, combined with persuasive and fearless Courtroom advocacy and an eye for detail, are qualities which clients rightly demand and which he brings to the cases on which he is instructed.
Simon is regularly instructed in complex, multi-party and multi-jurisdictional cases. Recent instructions with an international element have concerned matters in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Channel Islands, Bermuda, Trinidad and Tobago, the British Virgin Islands, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. He has particular experience of disputes concerning assets and/or parties based in the Middle East.
As well as appearing in the higher courts in England and Wales, he acts in alternative dispute resolution processes. He also accepts instructions to act as an expert in expert determinations.

Commercial disputes
Simon frequently acts in high-value, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes. Civil fraud claims, company disputes and asset-tracing exercises form the bedrock of his work. He has particular experience in disputes with a Middle Eastern element. He brings a strategic and tenacious approach at every stage of the litigation on which he is instructed. He regularly appears in the higher courts as well as in dispute resolution processes.

Simon is a highly sought-after trusts practitioner. He is frequently instructed on high-value, multi-jurisdictional trusts disputes. He has a keen technical eye as well as a robust and practical approach in both contentious and non-contentious matters. He appears frequently in the High Court on trusts and probate matters.
His instructions span the whole spectrum of Chambers’ work including: breach of trust / breach of fiduciary duty claims; contentious probate disputes; trustee applications for directions; VTA claims; trustee and personal representative removal applications; Inheritance Act claims; TOLATA and family disputes; and professional negligence claims relating to trusts and estates matters.
